Tracing New Currents in Contemporary Art
More highlights and collaborations for the eighth edition of Personal Structures
Kozo, Tear Through Time
The ECC Italy announces further highlights and collaborations for its upcoming exhibition Personal Structures – Confluences 2026, opening from 9 May to 22 November across Palazzo Bembo, Palazzo Mora, and the Marinaressa Gardens in Venice. Bringing together established artists and emerging voices, the exhibition explores how artistic practices move beyond fixed definitions, embracing intuition, experimentation, and exchange. As Sara Danieli, Head of Art at ECC Italy, explains, “Confluence is where differences meet and transform, generating new currents and energies.”

Highlights Across Venice
At Palazzo Mora, DTR Modern Gallery presents a dialogue between two distinctive artistic voices: Keith Haring and KOZO (Eden Karo). While Haring is widely known for his iconic subway drawings, KOZO has gained recognition for a practice that blends classical draftsmanship with pop culture. In conversation, their works move across time and references, creating a bridge between historical significance and contemporary influence. The result is a layered visual exchange that connects generations and artistic languages, revealing how shared imagery can evolve. Bringing a powerful dimension to the exhibition, ECC Italy is pleased to present We Are Inconsolable (2025-2026), the latest series by ORLAN. The work translates contemporary social and political crises into a field of visual intensity and resistance, unfolding from AI-generated imagery into painterly interventions where human and algorithmic gestures converge.
JOJO, Hiroiko Araki & Lucky Land Communications
At Palazzo Bembo, a collaboration with Japanese publisher Shueisha introduces the iconic manga JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure by Hirohiko Araki into the exhibition context. Its presence disrupts traditional distinctions between high and low culture, original and reproduction, inviting audiences to reconsider how artistic value is constructed and perceived.

In the Marinaressa Gardens, internationally renowned Indian artist Paresh Maity presents Equilibrium, a monumental brass sculpture composed of intersecting planes and vertical axes. Balancing lightness and solidity, the work reflects light while maintaining a strong connection to the ground. Also in the gardens, Rashid Al Khalifa unveils Inhabited Crate, an interactive installation made of modular metal cubes. Designed to shift between structure and openness, the work transforms rigid geometries into a permeable environment that responds to its surroundings.

Media Partners
An integral part of Personal Structures – Confluences is its network of media partners, which plays a key role in shaping and extending the exhibition’s international reach. This year’s edition brings together both global platforms and locally rooted voices, including ArtReview, Ocula, Exibart, Venezia News, and Pigment Intl. The biennial exhibition will also be highlighted on Dezeen Events Guide. Together, renewed collaborations and new partnerships enhance the exhibition's visibility and contribute to the broader discourse surrounding contemporary art. These collaborations reflect a shared commitment to supporting and amplifying artistic practices across diverse platforms and audiences, while fostering dialogue across cultures and disciplines.
