Artist Paul Ygartua will explore the dystopian future depicted in the piece, where AI grants humanity immortality at the cost of freedom and identity. He will explain the symbolism of souls travelling on a conveyor belt, trapped in a bleak, AI-controlled world, and reflect on his broader artistic themes of human destruction and dystopian futures. Ygartua will also share insights from his Basque heritage, connecting it to his belief in the importance of Indigenous cultures’ message to protect the world.
