The Comic Art Teaching and Study Workshop is part of the Department of Art at Rice University in Houston Texas. CATS is a hybrid teaching/research/Risograph production space dedicated to comics. It is home to thousands of pieces of original comic art, comics and books on comics. Printmaking’s inherent property of multiplicity connects diverse audiences, ranging from museums, libraries, and palaces to comics and street graffiti. Our focus is on developing conceptual directions, critical discourse, and technical expertise that stimulate the growth of contemporary printmaking practices.
