Simone Boon

Simone Boon, a Dutch experimental photographer, received her master’s degree in fine art from the RMIT, the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (Hong Kong Campus). From an early age her life had a nomadic character, immersed in different cultures, that greatly influences her art. In 2020 she returned from her latest overseas residence in Hong Kong to Europe. Boon’s photography explores the fleeting essence of life and how identity is always evolving from a feminine perspective – time, space and place merge and are lifted above a linear concept of time. Boon explores these ideas using her beloved Nikon camera to create surprising visual shapes that could not have been seen with the naked eye.
