Peter Van Ardenne

Peter (1949) has restored antique objects for about fifty years. This resulted in a lot of ‘useless’ material, crying out for being brought to life. Making sculptures proved to be a perfect match with the residue of mythology, religion and fairy tales in the artist’s head. During his work thoughts, distorted sayings and garbled proverbs well up from these sources. No better way to express himself than through the spontaneous interaction of material, head and hands, culminating in his sculptures.
