Pavel Miguel

Pavel Miguel Jiménez has had a genuine sculptural vocation since he burst onto the Cuban scene around 1995, as a member of an aesthetic resistance group called Punto in his native Cienfuegos, in the south-central part of the island of Cuba. For 20 years he has not ceased to create sculptures and objects to reflect on various topics of an ideological, existential, social, religious and political nature, as there are several human problems that trouble him. Equally diverse are the materials he uses, the supports and dimensions in which his sculptures expand from an elaborate technique and a craft that highlights the hardness and brutality of the materials used.
