Nina Freedman

Working in sculptural installations, design, and media, Nina’s interdisciplinary practice builds on her deep experience in architecture. She thematically explores connections between scaled layers of domestic and universal ‘Homes’; Home to Self, Home with Family, Home to Community, Home in Nation and Home with Earth’. A key focus are domestic spatial ‘thresholds’ with transformative, inclusive, communal possibilities. Concepts probe behavioral norms of privacy in public, to create safe places which encourage crossing vulnerable thresholds that typically limit authentic visibility. Born in Brooklyn, NY, she is an architect, artist, educator and podcast host.
