The efforts of the Central Bank of Hungary (Magyar Nemzeti Bank, MNB) to promote art are in line with its social responsibility strategy. As part of this mission – in line with international central bank practices – in recent years, through its subsidiary MNB-Ingatlan Kft., it has established an art collection, which now includes more than a thousand artworks by Hungarian contemporary and post-war artists. The aim of MNB Arts and Culture which manages and takes care of the collection, is to make it accessible and meaningful to the public. The unparalleled quality of the art collection and its active outreach strategy have earned a membership of the International Association of Corporate Collections of Contemporary Art (IACCCA).
