Katherine Jackson
Trained as a painter, Jackson is fascinated by light, and developed her distinctive medium of etched glass, edge-lit with LEDs. Her layered glass panels have lit up the streets of New York with many windows installations, vibrating with color. Her cast glass oil cans are set on lightboxes so that they glow from within. Called Little Oil, the work alludes to Big Oil and the climate crisis. But the goal is, as always, the transformative effect of glass & light, inviting multiple associations.
