Since 1982 after her degree at ArtEZ, Joanne Luijmes has been working as an artist, teacher, advertising illustrator and designer. She creates all her subjects in symbols, as colourful Islands and continents. Imagining and re-ordering the subjects of her archive has changed from side effect to her main issue. It is her leading inspiration ever since. She jumps into her mind map and zooms in and out. Creating new worlds. The changing difference of the same thing through time fascinates her.
