Giselle Weegels was born in 1951 in Valkenswaard (the Netherlands). She was educated in Tilburg at the Academy of Fine Arts to become a teacher and free artist as well. Thereafter she studied for a year in Italy at the Accademia di Belli Arti in Florence. She started working in 1975 as a free artist and teacher drawing and painting. She also started teaching stone carving for the blind and partially sighted. From 2013 on she focused on sculptures in stone and bronze.
