Faiza Butt
Faiza Butt was trained a the National college of Arts, Lahore and at the Slade school of Art London. Originally from Pakistan, Butt’s practise has been based in London since 1998. She is part of the vibrant east London artist community with her studio based in Hackney. The area boasts largest concentration of artists living anywhere in the world. Her atelier is the renewed Hackney Down studios, which she shares with nearly 200 creatives working in her complex. Her practise is reflective of the vibrant, mixed cultural community of artists that surround her. Cross cultural pollination is evident in her artistic conscious. Butt creates meaningful works that address feminism, climate anxiety, identity and social history. Her mediums range from digital art, drawing, painting to ceramics.
