Chandraguptha Thenuwara is one of the established contemporary artists in Sri Lanka. He is also an activist. He is the founder of VAFA; an artist-run art school and exhibition space and has exhibited extensively. His work belongs to institutional collections including the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Fukuoka Asian Art Museum in Japan, Queensland Art Gallery in Australia, John Moore’s University Art Collection in United Kingdom, Fine Art Museum Umurtia in Russia
