Photographer Alissa Everett has been working for two decades to document social issues, remote locations, and indigenous cultures in more than 130 countries on six continents. Based in Nairobi, Kenya, she has covered humanitarian issues in Iraq, Darfur, Gaza, South Sudan, Afghanistan, and DR Congo to name a few. Her work captures the human spirit and poignant moments in the face of conflict, creating sensitive imagery often at odds with the wider political and reported situation of the time.
