Aarne Jämsä (b. 1956, Jokioinen) is a Finnish sculptor living in Helsinki. He’s married to the painter Arja Jämsä. He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts of Finland in 1981. Jämsä has participated in many group exhibitions in Finland and abroad and has held solo exhibitions. His works are among others in the Museum of Contemporary Art Kiasma, in the Oulu Art Museum and in the collections of the State of Finland and the City of Tampere and Helsinki. Also, his works are in the collections of the Saastamoinen Foundation. Jämsä received the Mänttä Fine Arts Weeks Prize in 1993 and an artist’s pension in 2017. Jämsä won the Ring Art Competition in 2011 with his work Helman heilahdus, and the work was unveiled at the Airport railway station in 2015.
