Join artist Daniel Ibbotson for a creative workshop on the experience of living in Venice
This found object and collage workshop is based on artist Daniel Ibbotson's own experience creating his artwork for Personal Structures 2022. It will require for participants to bring something personal, to find something in the streets of Venice and then create a piece of work based on living or staying in the city. The artist will provide the basic materials which will allow the participants to create their own work.
Daniel Ibbotson came to Venice in March this year to create the artwork he presented in Personal Structures - Reflections. He lived in a small flat near the Rialto Bridge and during his four week stay he collected materials found around Venice. With this workshop the artist's intention is to recreate his experience using methods he learned during his stay and create finished pieces. The theme will be centred through the eyes of inhabitants and visitors currently in Venice.

The workshop is open to all, suitable for people of all ages and backgrounds. It is addressed to locals as well as travellers who are willing to create a piece on their experience in Venice. There is no need to have an art background to attend, everyone will be able to create their own artwork freely.
The workshop will start at 10:00 and finish around 16:00. At the end of the workshop attendees will be invited to present their creations and share their ideas with the rest of the group.
Programme
10.00 - 10:20 | Meeting at Palazzo Mora (Strada Nova, 3659) for an introduction and presentation of Daniel Ibbotson's work Studio 54
10:20 - 12:30 | The group will move to Palazzo Michiel del Brusà (Strada Nova, 4391, Campo Santi Apostoli). Attendees will prepare their materials and draft out their creation
12:30 - 14:30 | Lunch break in the area and research of materials around Venice.
14:30 - 16:00 | Participants will work on their artworks at Palazzo Michiel. Once completed, each attendee will present their creation to the rest of the group.
ABOUT DANIEL IBBOTSON
Daniel Ibbotson is mixed media abstract artist that focuses on creating conceptual sculpture paintings. He enjoys the challenge of creating work based on his interests in architecture symmetry and geometry. Ibbotson uses recycled and found materials, as much as possible, which adds imagination and serendipity to the final outcome. Find out more about the artist here.
