Touring Time (Everywhere Here Now): A Conversation with Jin-me Yoon
Exploring Jin-me Yoon’s work on migration, memory, ecology, and intertwined histories
Touring Time: A Conversation with Jin-me Yoon brings together curators and scholars to explore Yoon’s recent work through a series of short excerpts from Yoon’s work Touring Time (Everywhere Here Now), 2026, moving across themes of haunting, migration, ecological time, and the parallel and entangled histories of Venice, Seoul and the DMZ (Demilitarized Zone) as sites of war, progress, trade, tourism, and ecocide. The conversation traces the work’s improvisational methodology, mirroring its wandering, listening, and resistance to predetermined meaning alongside its formal strategies of framing and vertical time. Panelists Kyoo Lee, EJ McGillis, Anne-Marie St-Jean Aubre, Vicki Kwon, and moderator Ming Tiampo will respond to and build upon one another’s reflections in dialogue with Yoon.
Moderator:
- Ming Tiampo, Professor, Art History Carleton University and co-director of the Centre for Transnational Cultural Analysis
Discussants:
- Vicki Kwon, Curator of Korean Art & Culture Collections & Research at the Royal Ontario Museum
- Kyoo Lee, Professor of John Jay College & The Graduate Center, City University of New York (CUNY)
- Euijung McGillis, Curator of Contemporary Art at the National Gallery of Canada
