Personal Structures 2022 is subtitled “Reflections” and refers to the social and political breaks and upheavals of the recent past and present. Anka Landtau from Struxdorf (Schleswig-Holstein, Germany) is one of the artists showing their Installations at the birthplace of the Venetian scholar, poet, literary theorist and cardinal Pietro Bembo (1470-1547). The title of her multimedia installation is The happy ones are curious -  Friedrich Nietzsche.

"Reflections" does not only mean mental reflection, optical reflections or reflections on the water, but also the throwing back of waves at an interface. † gives her installation the title The Happy Ones Are Curious - Friedrich Nietzsche and thus makes a personal statement: The find from Schleswig-Holstein is a damaged bucket cast in bronze, containing broken bottles and an old-fashioned mobile phone. On the display runs the documentation of a spring awakening staged in the studio, created in January 2021, in the middle of the Corona lockdown as a time of being thrown back together.

It is not the first time that the artist Anka Landtau has invented new conjuring rituals in the border area between nature and art. Normally, their figurines are "released" in the Belliger Au. In Palazzo Bembo, she transforms the tattered vessel into a crater-like, futuristic landscape. The digital miniature ritual dance creates more than a new level of reflection: What initially seems like a prehistoric seasonal festival becomes a ritual for the restoration of the damaged environment, the destroyed nature or the impending climate catastrophe. The female sculptures known from her work, curiously exploring the crater, only catch the eye at second glance. History, present and future combine to form a joint effort.

The multimedia bronze installation creates a variety of mirrored refractions, attempts at reflection and questions. On Wednesday, October 5th, the artist and the art association Weltkunst Angeln e.V. invite you to a public tour and reception in the Palazzo Bembo, the former birthplace of Pietro Bembo (1470-1547). The art historian Verena Voigt M.A. (Potsdam, GFZK e.V.) draws lines between the productions of Anka Landtau and selected "reflections" of international artist colleagues such as Ana Huberman Lazovsky, Fintan Whelan, Deanna Sirlin, Gill Gatfield, Phoenix Crown Holdings Inc. (Thomas Lollar & Ricardo Arango), Georgii Uvs & Ellen Nash, Wendy Steiner, Giselle Weelgels, Xi Nan, Chen Peiper, and Helen Kirwan.
