The event will start at Palazzo Mora at 3 pm with a tour of works relating to healing in ECC Italy’s show Personal Structures — Confluences, including those by Judith Unger, María Inés Aguirre and the Bold Beauty Project.
We will continue at the Palazzo Michiel at 4:30 pm with a roundtable and open discussion on murals and wellbeing. Together, we will connect Venice’s long tradition of art in places of care with contemporary, evidence-based approaches that bring artists, healthcare professionals and patients into the creative process.
Five key voices will shape the discussion:
- Marcello Mortillaro, Head of Applied Research, University of Geneva, Swiss Centre for Affective Sciences
- Guillaume Ozon, artist with over twenty years’ experience creating murals in medical institutions
- Virginie Pringuet, Head of ‘Fresque & Art en Situation, Beaux-Arts de Paris
- Dr. Ida Salvo, Director of the Vittorio Buzzi Foundation, Milan Children’s Hospital
- Vanessa von Richter, Director, Anouk Foundation, which has created over 300 therapeutic mural projects in 19 countries
We look forward to welcoming artists, art lovers, donors, healthcare leaders and researchers to exchange ideas on how art can turn hospitals and healthcare centres into spaces of imagination, dignity and hope.
