On the occasion of the Venice International Art Biennale, Ines Valentinitsch and Paola Ponti present BABY DOLL, a live performance exploring birth, fragility, and the ancestral instinct to protect and care.
Following Fluid Venus, staged in Venice for the Personal Structures biennial exhibition, Valentinitsch returns to the floating city with a work addressing birth in its most physical, intimate, and vulnerable dimension. Valentinitsch’s fabric sculptures become part of Paola Ponti’s performance, an intense ritual of care driven by the primordial impulse to protect what is most fragile. A lullaby and the original sound of a birth create a sensory experience where body, sculpture, sound, and emotion dissolve into one another. Palazzo Mora becomes an intimate, suspended space where birth emerges as a universal metaphor for fragility, pain, protection, and life itself.
