Carole Kohler

Nowadays, the Swiss artist Carole Kohler combines sculptures, abstract painting, and augmented reality. During her first steps as an artist, she showed what she had learned in art school with realistic portraits and paintings of wildlife that she encountered travelling through the world. On a mind-blowing desert trip, she discovered the unimportance of the individual in an infinite landscape. Her imagination tried to fill in what was missing and created self-induced mirages. She left her figurative path and set off into abstraction, always trying to show the invisible, the core. Although she has a well-fitted studio, she is attracted by new places while travelling or working in artists residencies. Nature is her major inspiration source because it is always changing and never finished.
